Livestock being shown at another bonafide Agricultural or 4-H Fair will be permitted to come late provided:
  1. A written request is made at the time of entry.
  2. The livestock arrive at the Prince William County Fair within 24 hours of release from the other Fair.

Special Awards:

Open:

Herdsman Awards

Dairy Cattle, Beef Cattle, Swine, Dairy Goats, Meat Goats, & Sheep

Exhibits judged from time of entry until release with Open and 4-H/FFA competing together.  Award based on:

1.) Personal appearance of herdsman in and out of show ring.

2.) Neatness and cleanliness of animals, stalls, and walkways.

3.) Systematic and neat arrangement of tack, feed, and exhibit area as well as compliance with fire regulations.

4.) Signs displayed identifying individual animals, educational material of interest to general public, and display of ribbons won.

5.) Courtesy of exhibitors to general public and in the show ring.

2nd:  $20.00





Youth, 4-H, & FFA:

                  

                                          Department 19, Beef Cattle:

Given by the family of Walter W. Wine in his memory:

Trophy to the winners in Novice, Junior, and Senior Showmanship Classes in Department 19.

Given by the family of Harvey R. Smith in his memory:

Trophy to the Supreme Champion of all Breeds of the Youth Beef Show.  This will be judged at the conclusion of the type class.

Veteran’s Farm Club Award

Plaque to the exhibitor in Department 19 with the most points. 

Standard Classes, 1901 – 1907, 1910 – 1918, 1931, 1932, 1935, 1936:

(There must be three (3) or more exhibitors within a breed to qualify for this award in these classes.)

Showmanship Classes, 1925 – 1927:

 Placing:    1st    2nd    3rd
 Points:      30      20      10

In case of a tie, the following points will be used:

 Reserve Champion    10
 Champion                  15
 Grand Champion       20
 Supreme Champion   25

The placings of multiple owned animals will not be used in determining the winner of the “Veterans Farm Club Award.”

Given in memory of

Mrs. Frances Niklaus by her daughter Suzanne

Cash prize to 1st and 2nd place winners of a youth-only Herdsman Award.  See Herdsman Award requirements above.
